Dalil reports facts against the thresholds a Shariah board approved, and records the determinations that board makes.

Dalil never issues a Shariah ruling. It does not tell you whether a company may be held, and it does not award any status of its own. It reports what a board-approved screening methodology measured, names the threshold that was exceeded, and refers the question to the board. The four things it can say about an item are that no exception was identified, that a threshold was exceeded, that Shariah review is required, or that the board recorded a determination.

Artificial intelligence is used to extract figures from documents and to suggest classifications and citations. Every suggestion is labelled as a suggestion, and no output of a model changes a status. A person confirms, edits or rejects each one, and the original value, the new value and the stated reason are all kept.

Adopted methodologies, completed screening runs, test results, signed determinations, signatures and source documents cannot be changed once recorded. A correction is a new record that references the original. The purification and audit ledgers are append-only: a reversal is a new row, never an edit.

Access is granted per organisation, client, fund or board, and every request is checked on the server. A person at one advisory firm cannot reach another firm's portfolio.
